January 2012...

I had made a resolution last year (January 2011) to do more writing, and, thinking that starting my own blog would help me in ….er…. "resolving" this feat, here I am….. except that was last year…. ….
Procrastination knows no bounds. I wonder if the act of procrastination can itself be a New Year's Resolution? Because, frankly, I think I'd be quite good at keeping that one. However, resolutions appear to be positive in nature and focussing on bettering one self, and procrastination (for me, at least) seems to lean more on the non-positive side. I'm not saying it's completely negative, since doing nothing does have some appealing qualities, but for the sake of the New Year and "changing for the better" and all that, I won't include procrastination in my list.
  1. Creative writing on a regular basis.
  2. Be more creative in general, actually… my crafty side seems to be dwindling… Maybe learn a new knit stitch?
  3. Stop nail-biting once and for all.
  4. Healthy eating habits. (With so much holiday-themed treats, this one may have to wait until next month, except by then it's Valentine's chocolates. Shoot.)
  5. Develop some sort of exercise routine, and keep at it.
  6. Stay motivated, remain positive, persevere…
Right. There it is. In writing. No turning back now. This makes it official. I'll give myself the next couple of weeks to make sure everything sticks. I'll be back here soon with an update.

Oooops, so much for daily writing....

The couch was just so comfortable yesterday evening, and I was aimlessly crocheting a circle while watching TV, and I also had my old reliable cat, Mandy, sleeping on my lap. I hate to disturb my cat for a quick blog. Ergo, practically impossible for me to get up and get to the computer to update my blog.

Right, so anyway, that's my excuse. At least, my cat should be pleased.

Something old, something new, something Blogged, something blue...

I hereby present my Blog, a new venture in my life, as indicated in my New Year's Resolutions. Ok, ok, so we're getting into February 2010, I like to consider and reconsider and re-reconsider (etc) my options (or resolutions, as the case may be) before getting them down on paper, or blog (whatever).
So anyway, my first entry appears to be a bit vague, a bit bland, and frankly incredibly boring. And this could very well be my reason for starting a blog in the first place. I'm an administrative assistant by day, and a creative writer by night ... or perhaps by late afternoon, as I work part-time. I figure a blog is the almost-perfect way for me to carry out this new writing initiative after admin work hours, while getting myself away from the brain-draining toils of afternoon television. I want to change my routine and get myself writing regularly (or semi-regularly), even though what I may be writing is complete blark.
Writing is writing, after all... Something good is bound to come out of this incessant rambling, right?
